Brazilian exports of wood products increased by 45% in February

In February 2022, Brazilian exports of wood-based products (excluding pulp and paper) increased by 45% in value compared to February 2021, from $284.8 million to $413 $.9 million, as reported by ITTO.

Pine lumber exports increased significantly (49%) in value between February 2021 ($46.2 million) and February 2022 ($68.9 million). In volume, exports increased by around 7% over the same period, rising from 238,500 m3 to 254,300 m3.

Exports of tropical sawnwood in February increased slightly (2%) in volume, from 30,100 m3 in February 2021 to 31,800 m3 in February 2022. In value, exports decreased by 1.6%, from 12, $6 million to $12.4 million, over the same period.

In February, pine plywood exports saw a 37% increase in value compared to February 2021, from $66.3 million to $90.5 million.

In volume, pine plywood exports increased by 18% over the same period, from 194,500 m3 to 229,700 m3.

As for tropical plywood, exports increased in volume (13.5%) and in value (26%), rising from 5,200 m3 (2.3 million dollars) in February 2021 to 5,900 m3 (2.9 million dollars ) in February 2022.

Wooden furniture exports increased from $55.1 million in February 2021 to $60.3 million in February 2022, a growth of almost 10%.
