Kodiak Building Supply acquired Shepley Wood Products.

Kodiak Building Partners acquired Shepley Wood Products in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The acquisition, effective December 10, was announced via a joint statement from Tony Shepley, owner and president of Shepley Wood Products, and Kodiak Building Partners.

Shepley Wood Products was founded in 1978 and is a provider of products and services to professional builders, architects, designers and homeowners in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Tony Shepley will remain president of Shepley Wood Products, which will join Kodiak’s Retail Lumber and Gypsum group and report to Pat Flood, executive vice president of this Kodiak segment.

Tony Shepley and a partner started Shepley Wood Products over 40 years ago when they bravely challenged six established lumber yards in the Hyannis area with just $ 4,000 and a used truck. He immediately distinguished himself by calling Shepley a “wood products company” rather than a “lumberyard”. Shepley’s success eventually became the only remaining lumberyard of the original seven still serving that area.

According to Kodiak, Shepley Wood Products has differentiated itself in the market by offering a wide range of products, using technology to the fullest, and training an educated workforce that meets all customer needs. In addition, employees are trained to anticipate the future needs of their customers before they even occur.

“Tony and his entire team are top notch and set very high standards in all facets of their organization. As we learned about its strategies and standards, we knew we wanted to bring Shepley Wood Products under our umbrella, ”said Steve Swinney, President and CEO of Kodiak.

Matt Lascola, vice president, corporate development and real estate at Kodiak, added that if he were to start a building materials business from scratch, it would look a lot like Shepley. He said he was eager to add this prestigious company to Kodiak’s existing presence in the Upper Northeast.

“We considered many options when finding a business partner, and Kodiak really turned out to be the obvious choice to maintain and grow the relationships we have created with our customers, employees and community,” said Tony Shepley said.

Kodiak Building Partners is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
